Venture boosts corporate advisory arm
Venture Advisory has boosted its capability in the telecoms, media and technology corporate advisory arena by hiring Philip Alexander and Rob Antulov to join their Sydney office. Phil and Rob have particular experience in advising Australian technology companies as they raise capital and engage in mergers and acquisitions. This expansion strengthens Venture?s position as the leader in the digital and media technology space. Phil Alexander has worked in senior strategic, M&A, and operational roles in Australia, Europe and Asia. Since 1991 he has advised over 40 companies in M&A transactions with a combined deal value of $3.2 billion. These transactions include capital raising, acquisitions, mergers, divestments and company restructures in Australia, Europe, the USA and Asia. Some recent high profile M&A transactions involved Optus, Sensis, Fairfax, News Ltd, Vocus and StyleTread. Rob Antulov has over 25 years? experience as a senior executive and adviser in media, technology and consumer goods sectors, including advising the CEO and Boards of major Australian media, technology and retail businesses, with direct involvement in over 30 financing and M&A transactions. He is also a co-founder, investor, director or advisory board member for a number of early stage and growth stage technology businesses.

Oakton Appoints Paul Voges as NSW GM
Australian consulting and technology firm Oakton has announced the appointment of Paul Voges as Executive General Manager for New South Wales, effective October 2012. He will be responsible for the future direction of Oakton?s activities in NSW and the management responsibility for the firm?s 300 local employees.?Voges has over 16 years of experience in the technology sector including senior positions at Salesforce.com and Microsoft in Australia. Voges also has extensive experience in enterprise consulting sales and delivery spanning his career in Australia and his native South Africa. Schott appointed to NBN Co Board as Director
Dr Kerry Schott has been appointed to to the board of NBN Co Limited.Dr Schott is the former CEO and Managing Director of Sydney Water and has spent 15 years in investment banking, including as a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank responsible for infrastructure work in Australia and Asia, and as Executive Vice President of Bankers Trust Australia. Dr Schott also has significant experience in the public sector, including as CEO of the NSW Commission of Audit. She is also a member of the Infrastructure Partnerships Australia Board, Whitlam Institute and the New South Wales Treasury Corporation (TCorp).
